Paying for your NHS Dental Treatments
The charge you pay depends on the treatment you need to keep your mouth, gums and teeth healthy. You will only ever be asked to pay one charge for each completed course of treatment, even if you need to visit your dentist more than once to finish it. Our procedure for NHS treatment is for you to pay the banded cost at the commencement of your treatment.

Our procedure for NHS treatment is for you to pay the banded cost at the commencement of your treatment.
The standard price NHS bands are
- Emergency dental treatment – £27.40
- Band 1 course of treatment – £27.40 This covers an examination, diagnosis (including X-rays), advice on how to prevent future problems, a scale and polish if clinically needed, and preventative care such as the application of fluoride varnish or fissure sealant if appropriate.
- Band 2 course of treatment - £75.30 This covers everything listed in Band 1 above, plus any further treatment such as fillings, root canal work or removal of teeth but not more complex items covered by Band 3.
- Band 3 course of treatment – £326.70 This covers everything listed in Bands 1 and 2 above, plus crowns, dentures, bridges and other laboratory work.
Treatment is FREE for:
- Children under 18
- Pregnant Women and New Mums
- Full Time Students (aged 18)
- People on a range of Benefits
